Children’s University: $137,874
Special Characteristics: Program targets parents who attend the Madera Center as well as the Madera Rancho area at large. It is the only preschool provider in a 10 mile radius.
Target Area: Madera Ranchos/Parents attending the Madera Center Community College
Eligibility: 200-250% above the federal poverty level
Number of Children: 24
Teacher Qualifications: Director holds a BA in child development
Operation: 3.25 hours a day for 175 days a year

Fairmead Preschool-CAPMC: $151,200
Special Characteristics: Program targets families of children identified by the Lead Educational Agency (LEA) with a disability.
Target Area: Fairmead/Chowchilla
Eligibility: Priority given to the lowest income families of children with disabilities
Number of Children: 20
Teacher Qualifications: AS Degree in Child Development
Operation: 3 hours a day for 175 days a year

Rivergold Preschool-MCOE: $141,179
Special Characteristics: Priority will be given to low-income children, children who are referred from Child Welfare Services, foster children, or those with an Independent Educational Plan (IEP).
Target Area: Eastern Madera County
Eligibility: Priority given to children who have never had a preschool experience and meet State Preschool income guidelines.
Number of Children: 20
Teacher Qualifications: Position currently open for recruitment, BA preferred
Operation: 3 hours a day for 175 days a year

Small Fry Preschool-Madera Adult School: $136,766
Special Characteristics: Children whose parents prefer a participatory approach to preschool through intensive parent involvement (i.e. Parent Co-op)
Target Area: Howard Elementary School
Eligibility: No State or Federal guidelines will be utilized to approve families for service.
Number of Children: 24
Teacher Qualifications: AS Degree in Child Development
Operation: 3.5 hours a day for 175 days a year

General Grants

CARES Plus – MCOE: $180,000
Special Characteristics: Program provides capacity building opportunities by offering stipends to pursue higher education.
Eligibility: Providers must have worked in the ECE field for one year prior to application, and work with children 0-5 for a minimum of 15 hours per week in a licensed family or center based program.
Number of Providers: 18

Family Support- MCOE: $200,000
Special Characteristics: Program will offer family support and educational activities specifically to families of young children.
Target Area: Chowchilla and Eastern Madera County
Eligibility: Have a child enrolled in a Pre-Kinder program at Stephens, Reagan, or Rivergold elementary schools.
Number of Parents: 112

Preschool Access Initiative-MCOE: $100,000
Special Characteristics: Program targets providers by offering service delivery and coordination. The program will continue to follow the implementation of the Madera County10-Year Master Plan for Preschool.
Target Area: County-wide

Parenting Program-MUSD: $126,281
Special Characteristics: Program will provide support to all MUSD State preschool parents through community wide partnerships. Parents will be offered a variety of trainings such as literacy, health, parenting, and child safety.
Target Area: All MUSD State Preschool parents

Special Characteristics: Offers voluntary strength-based case management through universal home visiting for all first time parents.

Special Characteristics: Provides case management to at-risk families through a multi-disciplinary approach.

Eligibility: Based on identified risk, a family case plan is developed focused on the three most significant needs of the family.
